So...
In addition to the hike scheduled for this friday at 6 pm - which apparently is to include a reading of the constitution and declaration of independence as we go up (ummm...)
hee hee.
Saturday, 5 july is a good time for an evening get-together of some kind. No less an authority than Jingles the Pirate himself told me so and also informed me that other(s) had suggested getting together to watch drum corps videos in order to get warmed up for Corps Encore on Thursday the 10th. I also am attempting to assemble a cadre of Band Hall citizens to be indoctrinated in the glorious traditions and lore of the Band Hall, i.e. Jinglesþula. Jon has suggested his place as a facility (though I don't mean to speak for him!) which would be good... hmm.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.

And suddenly I am reminded of Dave Cox
and his classic joke...
How many trumpet players does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Five.
One to change the bulb, and four to stand around the room and say,
"Sure he's good, but I could do it higher and faster."
Oh and I think that Julius von bismarck is the crazy Berliner I heard once (on TV) say he was trying to get people to accept "the dictatorship of art - because art is the only lovely dictatorship."
I could be wrong but it fits the behavior

Ricky, that sounds strangely like the Tastee Bros. Those punks! They let their site expire and now I can only refer you to the one on Archive.org. I do have some recordings of the Tastee Bros if you really, really, really want them. :)
I can ride my bike again, yaaay!! Hooray for fuel savings!

I know it's June but this is still pretty good.....
So Tuba Christmas is a great event that quite a few tuba and euph. players look forward to each year. They gather in masses every year to play Christmas carols and to just have a good time playing some low, soothing tunes.
But some people ask, "why isn't there a (insert instrument here) Christmas?"
This is why.....
Enjoy?...... Well, try to anyways.....

Event Notice
Well for any of you that be interested, there's a hike in the works. It's an alternative 4th of july activity: the plan is to hike Malan's peak (a fairly gentle hike) in the evening so as to be able to see all 8 or so major fireworks shows at once. So we're leaving the browning center at 6 pm, from the W lot, and all are welcome to join us. If you wish to have access to the games/events calendar, just email Jon or I and we'll get you in on the action!
Otherwise, you have absolutely no excuse to have anything less than a great day.
Fun with l'Gogle
I found another eccentric Jarrett.
I advise you to check out the fake and faker bios.
I don't have to know them. It's better if I don't. But there are a few out there and they do their thing, usually very well.

Hello all....
Why hello to all.... It seems as though another year of marching is upon us. I find myself this year in quite the interesting position. Being the assistant director at Roy HS I now find myself in more administrative and overseeing tasks than hands on teaching and running of the band. Not sure he chose the right guy for this, but I guess we'll see.
For y'alls info, Roy HS has acquired all-new uniforms. We will hopefully be debuting these beauts at either the 24th parade or Roy days. So make sure you catch the train.
I know I'm a geek cuz all I ever talk about are computers, band or my family, cuz my kids are quite adorable.
I miss being up there with you guys. Ah, the memories!
Feel free to contact me jeffry (dot) s (dot) johnson (at) gmail (dot) com
Later y'alls!

Loud noise, anyone?
One of my co-workers kids is selling a nice Tama kit w/ cymbals for ca. $800 if anyone's interested. Zildjian (hh, crash, ride, china). Apparently it's hardly ever been played. See here.

Bet Your Bottom Dollar On Tomorrow
Just to remind everyone - tomorrow is Download Firefox Day. It's the official release of Firefox 3, and they're trying to break the Guinness world record for most downloads of software within 24 hours of its release.
Do your part to help out in the war against Internet Explorer.

I vote yes
As you all knew I would to a large group of geeks en masse, seeing The Dark Knight. I also vote we see it at the Junction seeing as how you can reserve your seats. Hence, we can all sit together in a collective group of geeks. We are less easy to infiltrate in numbers. I will be seeing it with or with out all y'alls* and be prepared for me to be wearing my Batcape.
Check y'alls* later!
*Not sure why I keep referring to you as y'alls, I'm neither from the south or a the hills....meh.
Well hello
Hey Andrew - good to see you. No, the band hall has not caught fire to my knowledge. But I hear they are taking out the carpet and putting tile or laminate flooring down or something like that.
Hey we should all go see the Dark Knight together, eh? July 17, I think.

Oh. Hello.
Well hello everyone! I'm glad to see the band hall has not caught on fire and you have not been trampled to death as Dr. Root tries to find the fire exit. That's pretty much all! Adios.

Firefox Download Day 2K8
I love my Fx browser! I'm also pretty excited about the release of Firefox 3 (specifically due to claims of lower memory usage.) It's also really cool to try to snag a world record in the process. :)
Good heavens! I'm a freakin' geek!
