We've searched every crook and nanny

Well, just about every one.

The trip down to Cedar City was most excelent. Thursday morning we loaded up the equipment at the school and then headed out. We did not stop in Nephi. Rather, we stopped in Scipio where the gas prices are high. Diego provided provender in the form of donuts and Capri Sun and bagels and Red Vines. Mmm. We had a couple of Talkabout
walkie-talkies between the two cars (Diego and Cory drove) which provided much entertainment. There was much quoting of movies and Homestar along the way, as well as other assorted randomness.

When we arrived in Cedar City we stopped at Julie's parents' house and unloaded our gear and just sat around for a while. Then we headed over to Cedar City High to set up. As we were driving up to the high school we passed a high embankment on which were growing several trees - some of them dead ones. Cory's car, which had recently been damaged by a vicious charging canine, was nearly damaged again as we watched a small funnel cloud materialize just long enough to pick up lots of dust... and a dead tree - and set it down none too gently on the road right in front the C-mobile. It was the coolest thing (both to see it and the fact that no one died) - quite a welcome to the town.

The band director over there is incredibly organized and was very helpful in getting stuff set up. We did a couple of run-throughs and even tried on a couple of songs for size that we didn't end up using, but enjoyed playing. After rehearsing for a while Julie left to go to her brother's graduation and we went to grab some grub. Cory and Diego and my person ate at the Iceberg Drive-In and Aaron and Lena ate at... um... another place that I can't remember right now. Maybe Subway or something.

After dinner we went back to Julie's parents' pad and had a tour of the new house they're building across the street, watched two kids jumping on top of a tree, and generally just sat around watching Pirates of the Carribean special features and part of The Emperor's New Groove. After a whiles it was time to go back and perform, so we donned our costumes and hopped in the Piratemobile(s). When we got there I think we did another run-through, and then wandered around Disneyland. I mean the high school. They had that thing more decorated than a... well, a highly decorated high school. My high school grad party was not nearly that cool. : (

They had inflatable slide and race course which we subjected ourselves to multiple times. Several minor injuries were sustained. The race was really fun, because to get through, you had to start out with a headlong dive through a small hole. Once, when Cory and I were racing, we both happened to get stuck in the hole right at first, and then at the end when you have to climb up the wall and go down the ramp Cory was a bit ahead, so I did a flip to go faster (for some reason that actually does work on the ramp part) and accidently gave Cory a compression fracture of the spine. At least that's what I was afraid of, but he was still walking and talking after that, so I guess he's ok. Then we eventually headed back up and drank Pina Coladas, ate shish kebabs and won tons (sp?) and other various edibles and embibables.

At long last the time (11 pm) arrived for us to play. And play we did. We opened with the Pirates of the Carribean opener, followed by a quartet doing an improv piece on two djembes, a marimba, and a cowbell. After that we finished our first set with a latin piece that Aaron had written. It consisted mostly of solos, which were fun. The crowd seemed to enoy it.

After that we just wandered aroud a bit more and ate and watched Family Feud played by the high school kids. The best part of that was the question "which is the most popular day of the week." There were 5 survey answers and you had to get three strikes for the other team to steal. Do the math.

After that nonsense ended we played our second set. This consisted of the epic swordfight cory-ographed by Chore, Diego , and me. But right then we were, Jingles & crew. It started off with me dropping a gold coin (courtesy the decorations) "accidently" as I walked across the stage. Cory and Diego both went for it at the same time, and thus the fight began. They fought for a while until Diego was forcing Cory down with swords locked when I entered, tapped Diego on the shoulder, and totally K.O.'d him as he turned to see who it was. He lay out cold on the side for most of the rest of the fight. After I punched him I raised my blade to finish him off. But Cory wanted the honors, so he shoved me and then we started fighting. My sword broke during the first few hits, but we kept going anyways. We finished up as Cory charged and swung recklessly. I ducked under his slice and cut him a good one right across the back. Then I kicked him onto his back and went to stab him, but he stabbed me instead. At this point, Diego came to and came up behind Cory with the intention of doing him harm. Cory pulled his sword out of my torso and stabbed behind him into Diego's torso. Thus Cory ended up victor (not Wooten) and collected the gold coin from the dust and exited stage right. The whole time Aaron, Lena, and Julie were going on the toms, cymbals, timpani, etc. which greatly enhanced the effect. After the duel, we ended our second set with another go of Pirates of the Carribean.

When that was all over we broke down the equipment and hauled it back to the band room. Then we had a go at the rock climbing wall they'd set up out-of-doors. By the time we got done the Polynesian dancers from SUU were about halfway through with their show. That ended with them teaching everyone a Hawaiian line dance. There was more feasting (Dilly Bars) and drinking (ice-cold Sprite) and general merry making. We then broke down the marimba that we had brought with and made our exit. Sleep was both welcome and in and out of doors.

The next morning bright and not even early at all, we breakfasted on cold cereal and Pop-tarts and then headed out for Red Cliffs. The hike was very awesome. We climbed and swam and became injured and took pictures and ate cactus (literally) and reenacted scenes from Star Wars. There were lizards and butterflies and wolves and coyotes and snakes. I'll be posting pictures when I get them developed, which should be soon as I have three rolls now completed and awaiting the light of day... I mean the darkroom. The whole hike took about 4 hours and we were nice and tired when we got done. I really should've tossed my frisbee from the mountain top down to the others, since I had it with me. Twould've made a nice video shot.

When we got back we dined on KFC at the Casperson flat and then later went for ice cream at GranDee's. We did not attempt the Zion, but my Pound Cake Sundae was most satisfying. Mmm. Raspberries and almonds. After that we finished New Groove and watched The Burbs. Then it was hay-hitting all around. Except for Frank.

The next morning we packed up and did the cold cereal thing again and left for home. The drive home was uneventful with the exception of the girl in the black car that Diego kept playing leapfrog with. Back at the college we unloaded and then went home. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable trip. Trips like that need to happen more often.

And speaking of trips, I read some more from der Gefangene von Askaban today. And started LotR again. But that's not trip-related. I am very much looking forward to Hof.

Well. Laters, all.

If...

...you named a Ship after a Civil war General,
you would have the 'U.S.S. Ulysses S.'
which is fun to say.

Apples to Eggmuffins?

So, I called Jessica and her answering message on her cell phone is hilarious. Very band geek related! About the title? Dunno.

Three million dollars?

Well, it's worth every penny.

That's what the new fountain near the entrance of Lagoon cost. (The Farmington Star reports it as $1 Million, but I heard it from the park director.) It is a walk in fountain for people to play in when it's warm. Each of the guesstimated 100 nozzles that shoot the perfectly clear, round streams of water cost $5000. I got an earful about QA at the park yesterday at an ASQ I attended. Interesting stuff. The park opens at 11 AM, but they have people visually inspect every inch of track on every ride, starting at 5:30 AM. Every ride in the park is inspected every day by 3 different people before it is certified for public use. These people take fun seriously so that we don't have to. Well... I found it interesting anyways. And the free dinner didn't hurt. If it had, I'd've complained.

Well, yesterday I finished reading Quenta Silmarillion, read all of the AkallabĂȘth, and started in on The War of the Rings. The whole collection is full of stories of heroic triumph, but leans more often towards tragic events. Still, I liked the note at the end of Quenta Silmarillion that said that it was unknown whether the Marring would be amended rather than just leaving you with a let down feeling. Kind of leaves it up in the air still. Good book, though.

Well, I am all the way happy about being able to get off both my works for the trip to Cedar City this week, which I am very much looking forward too. Today is our last (I think) rehearsal for avoiding the inflicting of the wounds of death as we thrill and impress our audience. I was just looking over the agenda Diego gave us an noticed that our performance time was 10 PM. They must have quite the party planned. Oh, yeah. That's right. Now I remember. Graduation parties go till the wee hours of the morning. We're not last. We're more like towards the beginning. Shoot - some of the kids might not even show up until after we perform. How silly of me. Well, their loss.

Yesterday I quite enjoyed listening to the soundtrack to O, Brother. As I was the only one home, the volume on the stereo was a bit higher than is polite to have it when there are other people present.

While I was home alone I put together two new slideshows and watched the first part of A New Hope. What a great show.

So now I'm just rambling on.

Buy. Now.

I mean bye, now.

Jeff, Jeff, Jeff. Where on earth did you get such a strange picture? Maybe I don't want to know. So.... why'd I ask? I don't know.

Oh, by the way, I messed up when putting my email address below (left part of it off). I've corrected the oversight.

All I have to say is this:

(In constant sorrow all through his days)

I am a man of constant sorrow
I've seen trouble all my days
I bid farewell to Old Kentucky
The place where I was born and raised
(The place where he was born and raised)

For six long years I've been in trouble
No pleasure here on earth I've found
For in this world I'm bound to ramble
I have no friends to help me now
(He has no friends to help him now)

It's fare-thee-well my own true lover
I ne'er expect to see you now
For I'm bound to ride that Northern Railroad
Perhaps I'll die upon this train
(Perhaps he'll die upon this train)

You can bury me in Sunny Valley
For many years where I may lay
And you may learn to love another
While I am sleeping in my grave
(While he is sleeping in his grave)

Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger
My face you never will see no more
But there is one promise that is given
I'll meet you on God's golden shore
(He'll meet you on God's golden shore)

Well, that and this:

I liked Sonnet 29 Jarrett. It reminded me of a funny Shakespear T some of my friends had in high school from their AP Lit class (I believe). It had a picture of the playwright on the front, and on the back this quote by the same:
"I love thee not, therefore pursue me not, for I am sick when I do look on thee."
Funny stuff, I thought. (Although it was not the Sonnet but rather the author that reminded me of the quote.)

Your Father's Moustache

One Word:

Hamster.

And so forth. Greetings, one and everyone. Today I have been enjoying a certain website, bet you can guess it by my links.

Not all classical music is as interesting as the rest.

Yay for Ganesh (the protectarrrr).

I don't really have any news today -- I'm pleased to announce my newly released Blogger Profile, though.

But I must go.
Poem of the day (my own choice): Sonnet 29

I never met a chainsaw I didn't like

...until today.

Actually, I liked the chainsaw just fine. Until, that is...

The fact of the matter is that before today I'd never used a chainsaw. And as luck would have it, the first one I used turned out to not like me. Dear reader, are you even remotely aware of how very much not good it is to have a chainsaw Not Like You?

Let me tell you. Please.

IT IS NOT GOOD.

I'll be posting the pictures from the ER as soon as I clean the blood off my camera and develop the film.

Ok, ok, ok. So I'm really just joking about most of the foregoing. I really did meet a chainsaw that didn't like me, but how it manifested this dislike was not to attack me, as I was implying above. It simply stopped working like I wanted it to. I would push the trigger to rev it, and instead of revving, it would almost die. We finally figured out that the gas in the saw was old and that the filter was clogged and so it wasn't getting much air.

But aside from all that, I'm just really tired now from cutting down 4 or 5 trees and cutting them up. My poor arms feel like limp spaghetti.

Ok, enough whining from the wimpy department.

It was actually a lot of fun, though. And the yard certainly looks much better.
Jason, I sent u my address in uh email.
Jeff, you can send invites to whomever you want to. I didn't have anyone specific in mind. I got your invite 2x, but when you send it to hotmail addresses, hotmail ruins the link when you click on it and you can't accept the invite. Please resend mine to s t e n _ p a a [ a t ] y a h o o o o o o o o o [ d o t ] communism. Thanks.

And yes, Jason, the Windows RG was about the funniest bit of winhumor I've seen yet. Right up there with the Windows CEMENT

Well, that's all folks.

Four Yorkshiremen

Another website of the day: And you thought you were poor.

And it came to pass...

...that the look of blogger was changed. Methinks I need to visit blogger more often so that I can be aware of the goings on of the site. I visit Band Geeks quite often and read the latest postings. By the way Jeff, very nice picture. I wish you the best of success in your life's endeavors.

I have a favor to ask of all of you. Members of the band: Please send me an email with your physical address on it so that I can send you all announcements. Kris and I are putting those together now and need addresses. :) Send addresses to j s c h i l l [at] w i n t o o l s [dot] c o m. Also, if any of you would like to see previews of some of our announcement pictures, go to the announcement picture page. Keep in mind that these are not the final draft of the announcement, but i think they're pretty cool looking.

Yes, Jon, I was an absentee trunket player. I took a brief trip to Nauvoo, Illinois last week. It was way fun. Kristin, her sister Leslie and I stowed away with the University 10th Ward to go to Nauvoo. Aside from the two 24 hour bus rides, it was a very enjoyable trip. We got to see a lot of really cool things and we got to visit the temple. Alas, I was not able to take a session there because they needed me to help with the baptisms, but I came in very handy in that area. After visiting Nauvoo, on our way back home, we stopped at Carthage, the place of the martyrdom of Joseph Smith. We were able to go through the jail there and see the scenes that surrounded the prophet in the final moments of his mortal life. So, yes, I was gone for a while, but I'm back now. I appologize for taking so long to post anything on this blog. I have been very busy lately and will likely be busy for the next couple of months. It's been all I could do to just update my own blog.

So yeah, what's old with everyone else? I played another concert with OCB last night. Hmmm. I hadn't picked up my trumpet since our last concert on the 21st of April and suddenly, I had this concert. I made it fine through the first two songs and then I was just on borrowed time for the rest of the hour-and-a-half concert. Lesson learned: Always change your oil every three thousand miles.

Website of the day: Windows RG - online demo

Movie of the day: How to properly tow a car - rt click link, Save target as...

Bye, bye.

Okay.

jon: what are the exacts as to the other email addresses you would like me to send the invites to? you can let me know @ jeff(dot)johnson(at)gmail(dot)com
The first of the engagement pics are here, and my wedding looms even more closer in just over 2 and 1/2 months!!!!

To blog or not to blog...

What kind of a question is that?

I must say there are even more broken sprinklers now near the BC than I've seen ever before. The ones in the fountain... well, one is barely reaching a foot high, and the other is dangerously lopsided. Also, there is a genuine broken sprinkler gushing into the bushes near the library. It's fun to splash thru water when I walk. As long as it doesn't get my socks wet.

But... with the singular, isn't it still Zelda?

And yes, Jarrett, Bela Fleck is awexome. If you liked them, then check out the solo album A Show of Hands by their bass player, Victor Wooten. By the by, nice word of the day.

Speaking of french, I'm trying to pick up a little german for the trip, so I picked up Harry Potter und der gefangene von Askaban yesterday from my local public library. Ja. I mean, yay.

It appears that we've found our absentee trunket player. Jason, you didn't tell us you was leaving. But it sounds like you had a good time. Way to congradulations on the announcement again.

Jeff, it appears that hotmail does not like blogger invites. Each time I click on the link it says: You are visiting this page outside of hotmail and bla bla bla. The blogger page it loads is one that says that it can't find the blog. Try sending the invite to my yahoo email or wsu email.

Well. That's about it for now. Going to be scanning in some more pictures today. Looking forward to getting my copy of Jinglesthula on DVD. That'll add nicely to my collection of 3 DVDs. Let's see. I have the one from the nice Olympic people, one from On The Friday Productions of marching band, Dr. Keipps one of the percussion ensemble, and this will make my fourth band related disk. All my DVDs will be a direct result of being in band at WSU. Wired. And weird.

something else!

Really Funky Band I've fallen in love with today:

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones

Banjo + Jazz = weird music right up Jarrett's Alley.

Amd you know what, weird is spelled, well, oddly. I'm giving up a spelling it wyrd, just like they used to and still should.

Not a golf course, that would be plural

Link of the Day(or so):
Poetry Daily
A new poem every day. Some are good; some are weird and modern.
I think, and don't anybody else go setting this up without me, there should be a Wsu Band Literature Page; for the poetry, stories, and so on of the Band. But anyhoo.

Title? Who needs a title? I guess I am an author, I should do something more creative, shouldn't I?

You're darn tootin' it's french! Where else would I get such weird information? That's what we called our triple (BoM, D&C, PogP). So, after taking a week to rest and relax and take some much needed R&R... oh, I just said that... I've rejoined the work force and hopefully I'll be joining another sometime soon, since I really need to pay for school.
Shootdanggoshgollydarngeewhiz, I just can't get her off my mind... not that I'm complaining.
Timeline is a rather good movie. I suggest you see it... that is if you like film adaptations to Michael Crighton's novels. The novel was also top-rate, suggested more than the movie, but which of his novels isn't?
More news? Oh, yeah, my kick off the summer party is tentatively, yet very strongly tentatively, set for Fri. May 28. I'm hoping that most of y'all band geeks can attend. I'd like to have the lot of you there. I should also be making phone calls to people to inform and direct.
Have more fun than a koala!

MWAHAHA (or something to that effect)

I'll get straight to the point, remember no harm intended.
Jon, Ben misled you. It's

Triptych.

T-R-I-P-T-Y-C-H.
However, Ben, you are forgiven once more -- Because in French, I'm sure it's Triptique. And maybe, just maybe, in British. But who can tell with the British.

So the Southern Baptist says to the Jew,
"Well, you say it 'Yahweh' and I'll say it mine."

< Insert news flash beeping alarm here >

This just in.

I'm bored.

So I'll blog. Yesterday I enjoyed a wonderful repast of cajun food provided to me by the WSU Student Affairs types for the low low price of free, all the while listening to Joe McQueen and his group (Dr. Keipp on drums). After which... well, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. As soon as I finish the roll of film I'll develop them and scan them in - along with my Reno pics. I recenly spent about 4 hours in a row scanning and editing another batch of Taiwan pictures. Currently I'm downloading the latest version of ProShow so I can actually open my slideshow files (accidently used a later version and now the older ones won't open).

Suffice it to say that when I dined later last evening that the vanguard was still hanging around on the third floor. Too bad the doors were locked.

Today, I was unpleasantly surprised to find that my boss was not back from his camping trip yet, which means I had to work until he got back which means that I missed going to the Zoo with my family. Grr. <- Thus.

Yay. Only about 32 more minutes to go on my download. The story is coming right along.

Peace

Word of the Day:

Two answer your questions

www.photobucket.com

And as far as blogging, I just log in directly through blogger.com to blog. No email is involved. As for sending invites to people, the invite sends them through an invitation service email through blogger. You just go to the members tab on the dashboard to send them. If someone wants to request an invitation they can send an email to
s t e n _ p a a [at] h o t m a i l [dot] c o m

The reason I write my address funny is to lose the web bots that crawl the web in search of what they recognize as email addresses to add to their nefarious spamvertizement email liststs. Go figure.

It's late.

Laters

Hmmmm.....and......EXCITING!!!!

Jon, what was that url for that free pic hosting website again? and also, what is your email you use for your blogger?
When two worlds collide, does spam become bacon frying in the middle of an egg?? Hmmmm........

Yes Yes

again.

A welcome to our newest fellow geek to come online. As to your previous post, Jarrett, no hard feelings. Sorry about the mix-up.

Four hours. Four long tedious hours, but now Mrs. Kosters photos are all scanned in and ready for editing and then to be added to the strange brew I've concocted for the CD. Jason, I don't know when I'll see you, but if you could bring the Taiwan pictures you have developed that I haven't scanned in yet to school sometime, maybe to OCB, I'd be much obliged.

Well well well. The end. For now.

semantics

So Jon. You "resent the invitation to the blog." Whose invitation, and why do you resent it? I've never thought of you as Resentful.

Or did you ment re-sent?

So tonight, I went to an Opera. Julius Caesar, down in Salt Lake. Only it was set in the 1930s-40s Golden Age of Hollywood. Caesar enters on a tank, looking like MacArthur in a red jacket.

Handel with machine guns -- It worked.

Yes yes

The parting comment then.

Hmmmmm... What in the world was I going to say. I have no clue. All I can say is that the phone rang within a few minutes of starting, and I was on until late into the wee hours. Fun stuff.

Got part of the itinerery for the EU trip. I'll be posting that later.

Hope is that thing with feathers

that perches in the heart. -Emily Dickinson

So I watched Disney's made for TV movie A Wrinkle In Time. Part of it anyways. The last part. Interesting. They took some licence with it. Nicely done, overall though. At least for a TV movie.

Andrew, you are exactly right. We should include you next time. And Jason. Speaking of which, we missed you at OCB today, Jason. Rod commented on your norseth.net Taiwan gallery - said it was nice. I spent some more time today scanning in Mrs. Koster's other sets of prints from the trip. I only had three to start with and she has about 10 or 15 total. Jason, I also would like to scan the ones you got developed following my first go-round at the CD project. And yes, I still think it's a great idea to give Rod his own personalized copy. I hope he'll be cool with it. If it were me, I'd just get the biggest kick out of that kind of thing.

The format I was thinking is a 2-Disc set to accomodate a music only soundtrack version and a directors commentary version where the narrators will relate anecdotes from the journey with some music in the background. Also included on the CDs will be wallpapers made from the pictures, the .jpg pictures themselves (probably only some of them), and, of course, some easter eggs. Gotta have easter eggs. The hunt just wouldn't be the same without something to find.

I must here express my displeasure with my computer. I have written multiple sessions to a CD before, but this is the first time I've had it erase everything on the CD before adding the files I wanted to burn. And the annoying thing is I did a session after that one to see if it was just the CD or if I had some settings all funky somewhere. No - the next session I did left the files on. Just a fluke I guess, then. But an annoying one.

Aaaaaaaand I'm on call now, so I'll have to blog more later. As a parting comment though

Well, this is different.

Well, my dislike of Sears notwithstanding, I'm really enjoying my new position there. I transfered from the lowly shoe stocker to the way awesome In-Store Marketing dude. I feel so important. I must make sure that things which appear in the ad have a sign on them to alert customers that the item is in said ad.

I really don't quite know what to say. I wish Ben and Jon would tell me about potential dates. You know, I do enjoy taking the ladies out for a good time. You could always let me know once in a while. Don't make me turn this blog around!

I am sitting in the computer lab at the WSU lybarry. I am just attempting to waste time before Ogden Concert Band rehearsal and wondering if Jason is going to show up this time or not. Perhaps I'll go find a white phone and try to track him down, or at the very least find out if he is ever planning on showing up again.

Here's a few thoughts to keep you entertained...

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

Gee, it is a long week...

so, I have no work or school this week. Its already Tuesday, and I have nothing to do. I shall have to make things for me to do, such as brush my cats' and dog's teeth. That will take time I hope. Oh, well. Blog to you all later.

Monday, May 10, 2004

I must say

that I like the new blogger interface. The blog itself looks just the same, but for those of us who post here. Zowie.

Well, I'm guessing that 1/2 the bloggers out there in the blogosphere (at least the ones that use blogger to blog) will be commenting on it. So I'll just leave it at yes I like it.

Thanks for the spelling help, Ben. Yes, the golf, gandalfos, game, etc. was enjoyable. As you might suspect, I'll talk to you more about it in person... or IM person. Whichever happens first.

Rrrrr... I really need to add some links to my last post for it to deliver the full inside joke/reference effect.

Stand by.

Sword and sheet

Triptique.
Jon, see you tomorrow. I hope the date is as fun as I'm hoping.
I'm hoping that I can get my DVD, since I played hookey from the band picnic.
Sorry everyone.
Later.

Apples to Apples

and dust to dust.

Today was a good day. I slept in until about 8:30, which I haven't really done since this semester started. I hit one of my friends in the head with a sword. My life was threatened in more ways than one when I played penultimate frizbeeee. I rehearsed music for our gig in Cedar City later this month. I chilled with the band at the park with burgers, pennies, and After Eights.

Aren't inside jokes fun?

Favorite movie line of the day: I'm obnoxious. - from Finding Nemo

That fish just cracks me up.

Well. Now the semester is ended, I've a lotta free time on my hands... and feet. Hmm. Maybe I should wash them off or something. Looks like work, OCB, A2D, WSU, ETC. I'll be guitaring, writing my epic trilogy, and, with any luck, producing the trilogy as a shabby movie tryptich...er.. trip-tick? Something.

Ok, buy.

The point of no return

aka lim (x->oo) S m(y) + br^i(n) dx = P^i(n)

Or, to make things not clear as mud, my calculus final is over. I only say it because it was a great amount of stress studying for it, and such a relief to have it over and done with. For some reason I find myself missing Las Vegas right now. Not the strip, just the parts of it that I visited on my last trip there, which was the temple and someplace just south of Vegas where my cousin's wife's family lives.

Maybe it's just that I like the summer weather. Lukewarm summer evenings with a bit of a breeze. How very nice. If I lived in southern Utah, that's probably the part I'd like best about it - the evenings. I'd sit on the porch (I'd have a porch of course) and play the guitar.

Ok, more later.

Why can't

this week just end! I want it to be saturday afternoon when I'm on my date and mini-golfing and such. That'll be sooo much better than being at work right now. I'm working 12 hours today! I know that translates into more cash for me, but still! Or, it could be tomorrow at one of my many activities of the day... but I still have to work tomorrow night. Shucks! I'll have over 50 hours this week. Ok, I'm done griping. Later y'all

I'm sorry

but the "new" "fountain" between the BC, SUB, and Lampros reminds me of nothing so much as a garden sprinkler - and a broken one at that. It's nice to see they finally fixed the thing, but now, it's almost as sad looking as it was before. At least before it had potential. Now all it has is my sympathy. Still, it's good to at least have water in it.

Today

TODAY

is my last item for this semester: Math 1220 Calculus II - Final Exam

I'm off in a few minutes to study for it. How will it all go down? Who can say?

In other news, I had my very first night of working for Direction One where I received exactly 0 phone calls. Actually getting a nights rest was, well, restful. Party tonight hosted by Corcunda. Party tomorrow hosted by various angry citizens.

Again, if you'd like to post to this blog, just email me. It's
s t e n _ p a a [at] y a h o o [dot] c o m
In case you're wondering why I put my email address that way, it's to confuse the web bots. Go Bears.

Peace

You all have severe mental issues...

Been a while. Two weeks to be exact. I was wondering why Jason didn't show up to OCB. Now I guess I know why. I won't delve into my already troubled mind over that. I will just smile and say "It's about damn time." As for you people who have no band for which to be geeks to, I say to you HA HA HA HA HA. Ogden Concert Band rules! Okay, that was going a bit too far. How about this: Ogden Concert Band is adequit. Have fun in the sixth dimension.

Each night I ask the stars up above -

Why must I be a band geek in love?

Good times, good times. That's what this school year has been all about. There were highs. There were lows. There were a lot of lows. There were high highs. There were great expectations. There were thrills. There were chills. There were pennies, goldfish, balloons, movies, music, dancing, singing (there should never have been singing), hi-jinks, lo-jinks, kitchen sinks, pots, pans, alfalfa, albinos, and other assorted random acts of humanity. We laughed (a lot). We cried (alone, mostly). We did homework (but rarely). As far as great moments, there were a few that outshine all the rest. As far as great other stuff... well, I guess there was a place for that, too. In a word (and by "a" I mean "several"):
Reno
jazz run?
Cheers theme
Swap
nananana hey hey good bye
Joe's last mix

RANDOM

Rootisms

bees
dreams
farewells
and not least...
lots of friends.

I may add links later, but for now, suffice it to say that there are a few jems of websites out there. A few are listed on my links, quotes, and favorites blog.

Merry Summer to all, and to All, a good buy.

Happy and Sad

I'm so happy for Jason and Kristin. What a great thing and time for you two. The sad from the title only comes from me getting depressed about everybody getting married and me not. Oh, well, that's life. The same thing'll happen next year, everyone'll be getting married over the summer and I'll be left behind, still waiting for my shooting star to return to me (there's no crime in hoping, right?).
Anyway, I'll be having a party in the next couple weeks, so keep yourself posted for my posts!
Tootles!!

There was an answer to "my question"

Okay, for all of you who may have been wondering, the answer is yes. Yes, Kristin Fink and I are engaged and we are getting married on the 7th of August. We would like to hear from all of you, so please send us your information so that we can let you know the details (aka announcements). ;) Click here to send email. We thought this might be the best way to let everyone know seeing as probably not many of you will be regularly in the band hall during the summer. :) Take it easy, y'all. Oh yeah, if you don't have an email client like Outlook Express or something like that, mouse over the email link and copy the text that shows up in the bottom bar of the browser window.

Oh yeah, check with the WSU Trumpet also for more information.

Is there an answer to "the question"????

I applaud your goal to continue to be band geekish whilst the summer months plod on. I accept your challenge (if there was one).
